Bohaterkę poznajemy na wczasach. Po powrocie do Francji planuje rozwieść się z mężem. Niestety zostaje on wcześniej zamordowany. Ciało wyrzuca ktoś z pędzącego pociągu. Tak zaczyna się ta historia.
Bardzo zgrabnie skonstruowana scena pogrzebu. I to, co powtarzam przy niemal każdym starym filmie - nietypowość dialogów i scen.
Język postaci i ich sposób bycia znakomicie je różnicuje, od razu czuć charaktery. Fabuła rozwija się równie ładnie. Wszystko kręci się wokół ćwiartki miliona dolarów. Pieniędzy szuka kilka osób i wszyscy wierzą, że ma je wdowa. Kto mówi prawdę? Kto kogo przechytrzy? W połowie film trochę przygasł, ale zakończenie to wynagrodziło.
Sympatyczna rola Waltera Matthau, którego zawsze lubiłem.

We met main character, when she's on vacation. She decided to divorce her husband when she return to France. Unfortunately, someone murdered him and threw body out of the train. That's how the story begins.
Very nice funeral scene. And, as I say with almost every old movie, good and unusual dialogues and scenes. Characters language and manner is different and it's easy to to feel them. The plot is moving nicely.
It's all about quarter million dollars that everyone is searching for and believe the widow got. Who's telling the truth? Who is smartest? After it's half, movie got little boring, but the ending rewarded it. Nice role of Walter Matthau, who I always liked.
